This photo was taken at 2:24:49 PM on July 14, 2024 at Schoolcraft State Park near Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This hike was a part of a family summer road trip to a cabin on Deer Lake, a fairly large lake with gorgeous clear water perfect for kayaking. We went on multiple little excursions during this trip including this hike.

Mushrooms are one of my favorite things to photograph, compared to other plants and living organisms fungi are incredibly unique and strange. Their bright colors and unique shapes contrast with the environment around them. I especially enjoy capturing their gills whenever possible, the delicate, perfectly straight lines are one of the most intricate parts of a mushroom.
