This photo was taken at 6:31:17 PM on June 23, 2024 on the shore of Lake Superior near Ontonagon, Michigan. This photo shows off the incredibly clear water of Lake Superior, allowing you to see the rocks and beautiful caustic reflections beneath the waves.

This photo and the others in the Ontonagon – Mi category document an annual trip taken to a cabin west of Ontonagon with the same three friends I’ve been close with since my freshman year of high school. This photo was taken on the second year of this tradition. The cabin is owned by one of those friend’s family, some of which grew up in the area. Despite the cabin being located across a highway from the shore, there is still access to lakeshore of Superior through an abandoned property across the highway from the cabin. This makes the shore hardly a five minute walk from the cabin and allows for many trips to the beach and a perfect bonfire location. This trip is a tradition which we hope to continue for as many years as we all can.
